Journal Entry: Fri Oct 30, 2015, 4:52 PM
Hey Guys,

I know I've been a bit quiet around here recently, so I thought I'd drop in and update you on a few things.

I-mage (formerly known as technically Magi) has been re-branded and will be published by Action lab. graphicpolicy.com/2015/10/08/n…

issue 0 is coming out soon, so be sure to get your local comicbook store to order you a copy. twitter.com/ActionLab/status/6…

Still working on my drawing, though my other art account has been quiet.

just for clarification as I think some people took my last few journals as a confirmation of me quitting coloring. I haven't.

I'll have some cool new Variant cover colors I did for I-mage to show you guys very soon.

Change is Coming (New Account)

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 7, 2015, 8:36 PM
Hey All,

I have a bit of an announcement. depending on who is reading this, it may or may not come as a surprise.

I've decided that I want to start pushing myself towards doing full digital painted illustration and concept artwork while slowly moving away from comic book coloring work.

When I decided I wanted to pursue art professionally years ago I never really wanted to be a 'colorist only' It was just the path towards my goal I found myself on with my existing artistic skills as they were at the time.

I don't regret my years doing it, coloring professionally has helped me improve as an artist and a person and its given me insight into the good and bad of the creative fields. I've made mistakes, I have achieved dreams, I've meet heroes and been a part of creating great new worlds.

But I have reached a point where I find myself with very few remaining aspirations as a comic book colorist and now I want to work towards seeing what I can do about achieving some of my other dreams.

I think its important that I make it clear that I am not quitting coloring, not right away atleast. like most people looking to change careers quitting outright is not really an option, so I will still be available for coloring work for a quite while yet. but I feel like I need to acknowledge, for me at least, that I am working towards what I feel will be a positive change.

I have been debating with myself as to whether or not to keep my existing pseudonym Eddy swan or switching to my actual name. After struggling to find a way that I like to market myself as Ben lucas. I've decided I've just put too much work into crafting the "Eddy Swan" logo and brand over the years to let it go.

So I created a new Account Eddy-Swan-Art where I will be posting all of my own artwork, and I've changed this Deviantart account to 'Eddy-Swan-Colors' I will continue to post my colors and run shop here. Other social media I will decide upon later.

Look forward to seeing new artwork and further updates from me soon. ;)

Topcow!

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 10, 2014, 8:30 PM
Hey all,

remember when I said I had exciting news at the end of my last journal?

here it is! www.comicbookresources.com/?pa…

If I had been asked a few months ago, what would be the one existing comic title I would most like to work on,
I probably would have said Artifacts, as it was Top-cow comics (the Darkness, Witchblade) that first got me into comics.

So you could say it was a dream come true.

Ads? *fixed*

Journal Entry: Sun Jul 27, 2014, 6:54 PM
Hey All,

so did I miss the part where premium members now have ads? I have 16 months of premium membership And I'm getting talking ads (the worst kind) on my homepage, as well as random links away to surveys about deviant art. really not impressed.

edit: it was my bad, An app I installed on Google was taking liberties. I executed it with extreme prejudice.

also, I have some very exciting news that I'll be posting here soon about some work I've been doing. stay tuned!

-Eddy

Hey Everyone,

Just dropping in to say I am back from overseas. still struggling to get my body back on Australian time but I am here. I'll be looking to start work again next week, so if you have any commission or project inquiries let me know! I'm inspired to get back to work and refill the coffers.

For those interested in hearing how my holiday went. England was fantastic, I saw so many awesome things, stonehenge, the castles; arundal, warwick and porchester, Longleat country park and safari, London and most importantly Squirrels.

New york con was pretty good, I made some good contacts and got advice from some of my idols. Manhatten itself was a love hate relationship, in all honesty because of the con I didnt get to do asmuch sight seeing but I liked how easy to get around it was as most of the streets were numbered, I liked central park. I found the place a lot less friendly even compared to London... too serious. But hey, at least they Had squirrels as well ;P

Both great places to visit. As it was my first time out of Australia the whole experience was eye opening and I feel like I've grown as a person and an Artist throughout the journey. I'd recommend traveling to either.
