Eddy-Swan-Colors

Hey Guys,

it's been a real long time. I doubt there's many of you out there who still remembers who that Eddy swan guy is. I kind of silently stepped away from my life as a proffessional colorist. I got into the gig because I loved comics growing up and kind of fantasized what it would be like to be a famous comicbook artist (and to begin with it was a good side job while I was studying).

Im not egotistical enough to think I ever reached even close to the top but I worked for alot of the companies I had followed growing up and found that they were shadows of their former selves, the golden days behind them. I got into the grind of coloring for less then the minimum wage and I stayed the course for... thinking the big book that would get me on the board would come. I dont remember how many years, a little piece of my love for the craft chipping away with every piece, questioning if I even wanted to succeed if success meant continuing the way I was until I finally just siezed up completely with Dissilussionment and self loathing.

production was slowing to a crawl deadlines were being missed, books promised to me went to other people. I didnt make announcements, I just finished what I had owing and stopped answering emails.

Quitting was hard to do. but it was neccassary.
